Board approves multiple routine items: benefits consultant, Moseley courthouse study, and an early family-division waiver

At its July meeting the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors approved several staff-recommended routine actions: awarding a benefits and insurance consulting contract, approving an architectural services contract for courthouse space planning, and granting a family-division subdivision waiver.

County Administrator John Eggerson said the county and schools jointly solicited proposals for insurance and benefits consulting, received six proposals, and recommended awarding the contract to 1Digital to support open-enrollment work. The board moved and approved the award by voice vote.

Separately, staff recommended awarding a professional services contract to Moseley Architects to complete a courthouse area space plan and needs assessment. Paul said the study would include data gathering, tenant interviews, parking and historic-district considerations and would take roughly nine months. The board approved the Moseley contract and separately approved a $110,000 budget amendment from the general fund to cover the balance of the expense.

On land use, Planning Director Sam McLaren presented a family-division waiver for Nakia Logan Powell for a 5.74-acre parcel (tax map 39 21 b 2 a). Staff supported an early family-division waiver despite the five-year continuous-ownership requirement; a supervisor moved and the waiver was approved by voice vote.

All actions were approved on motions and voice votes; meeting minutes and contract details will formalize final contract amounts and terms.
