No members of the public spoke during the hearing. A board member moved to adopt the increase and the motion carried on a voice vote.
Board members and staff said the adjustment keeps Culpeper’s fee roughly in the middle of regional rates while addressing shortfalls from contract increases. Officials noted the rise does not fully cover transfer station costs but will help offset them.
The increase takes effect as part of the board’s action at the December meeting; the board did not identify a separate effective date during the discussion.
