The Senate Military and Veteran Affairs Committee released three resolutions during the session.
SJR33 would designate March 16 as Paws Healing Heroes Day in New Jersey. The committee released the resolution after technical review and a sponsor comment in support.
SR86 urges the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to establish an inpatient hospital facility at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. The sponsor said the joint base is important to the district and cited local veteran and military populations, saying more than 100,000 veterans live in South Jersey and that 60,000 live within 50 miles of the base; the sponsor added that 50,000 military personnel work on the base. Vice Chairwoman Cruz Perez supported the resolution and requested to be co-prime on the measure; the committee released SR86.
SR111 urges Congress to allow veterans to collect disability compensation without repaying separation payments. The committee released the resolution following unanimous committee responses recorded in the transcript.
All three resolutions were released by committee voice/roll-call as recorded in the transcript.
