Staff said unannounced inspections during the season showed compliance with site plans and conditions and recommended a limited amendment to the one‑year review language to reflect the intent that only the expansion zone be reviewed for continued approval after one year.
Board members discussed crowding, vehicle impacts and the number of people per campsite; planning staff noted the county campground ordinance does not restrict the number of people per campsite and that density and open‑space requirements govern site layout. The applicant’s counsel asked that the SUP retain the straightforward board review at one year without reopening a full public‑hearing process; staff and the board confirmed that public comment at the review meeting would remain permitted but that a new formal noticed public hearing was not required unless the board directed one.
The board voted to accept staff’s recommendation to amend condition 1 as drafted (limiting the one‑year review to the expansion zone) and to have new and original conditions apply as previously approved on April 5, 2024.
