County staff presented a set of routine budget adjustments at the Page County Board of Supervisors— Dec. 16 meeting, and the board approved the recommendations.
County staff (Speaker 4) said Page County Fire EMS had received $1,200 in local donations and requested that amount be appropriated for part-time wages. The animal shelter received a $5,000 VFHS direct award that staff asked be appropriated for animal expenses. Staff also requested $26,000 of restricted transient-occupancy-tax (TOT) funds to print additional visitor guides beyond prior approvals and an additional $2,000 for the Lorraine Swim Fest. A DEQ Prevention and Recycling grant awarded $21,932 to Battle Creek Landfill; $10,900 had already been appropriated and staff requested the remaining $11,032 be appropriated as described in the award letter.
"Staff recommends appropriation of all requests," Speaker 4 told the board, and described funding sources as $6,200 of local funds, $28,000 of restricted TOT and $11,032 of state funds. Staff said these requests would increase the general fund budget by $17,232 and the tourism fund budget by $28,000.
