Staff further noted the adult recovery court had been awarded a $1,000,000 BJA grant to be spent over four years and requested appropriation of $250,000 for personnel and operational costs. To reduce the amount needed from the general fund, staff proposed reallocating $54,630 of the sheriff's remaining CIP funds and shifting $8,000 from the jail's inmate food budget, along with an $8,000 procurement savings staff identified after budget adoption. After those reallocations staff said $99,370 would be needed from the general fund balance; in total staff presented a funding mix that the packet shows as $159,190 general fund, $193,681 county CIP carryover, $40,000 state funds and $250,000 federal funds, which staff said would increase the general fund budget by $341,820 and the county CIP fund by $301,051.
