Supervisors approve tourism council remote participation policy

The Page County Board of Supervisors approved a remote participation policy for the Page County Tourism Council after staff explained a bylaw amendment and policy the council adopted unanimously at its September meeting.

Rebecca, representing the tourism council, said the policy—drafted by County Attorney Michael Helm—mirrors the supervisors’ recently adopted policy but includes an exception since the tourism council is not a formal board and is therefore entitled to hold remote meetings. The policy permits remote participation for temporary or permanent disability, medical conditions for a family member, or other personal matters that prevent physical attendance. It also limits remote attendance for personal reasons to no more than two meetings per calendar year or 25% of meetings per calendar year, whichever is greater.

A supervisor moved to approve the change; the motion was seconded and members recorded support. Staff and legal counsel confirmed the policy’s language is nearly identical to the supervisors’ policy with only minor modifications to reflect the council’s different status.
