Pleasanton moves to pursue GLO Resilient Communities grant and comprehensive master plan

Pleasanton’s council authorized staff to issue a task order to CSRS LLC to prepare and submit an application to the Texas General Land Office Resilient Communities Program and, if the city receives an award, to provide planning and administration for a new comprehensive plan.
The city manager told the council the GLO program had allocated up to $100 million statewide for community development block grant mitigation funds and that the maximum award for a single community is $300,000. "The potential benefits of this grant are significant ... the maximum grant award is $300,000," the manager said, adding that no matching funds are required. Staff recommended proceeding so the city would not miss the funding opportunity. The council moved, seconded and approved issuing task order #1 between CSRS LLC and the City of Pleasanton for submission and administration of the potential award.
Staff said, if awarded, services would include public-input meetings, maps and planning for transportation, infrastructure and capital improvements, hazard-mitigation integration, and an expected plan timeline that could begin in March and conclude in March 2026.
What’s next: Staff will execute the task order to prepare the grant application and, contingent on an award, begin the comprehensive‑plan process with community engagement and council review.
