Pleasanton — Marie Nack gave the Atascosa Central Appraisal District report at the Dec. 5 council meeting, announcing Chief Appraiser Michelle Bordeaux’s resignation effective Jan. 14 and the board’s selection of Brandy (referred to in the transcript as Brandy Bridal/Brandy) to succeed her.
Nack told the council the district recruited Bordeaux to Midland County and said qualified chief appraisers are in short supply in Texas. She described Brandy as an 18‑year employee who has served as assistant and worked her way up from systems analyst; the board plans to place Brandy into the salary that the budget had earmarked for chief appraiser pay in 2025. Nack said one new appraiser position is anticipated and that the staff has stabilized under the new leadership.
Nack also described a board‑approved one‑time cost‑of‑living adjustment for staff of $3,000 that passed despite Nack’s opposition; she stated, “The amount was $3,000.” The appraisal district is pursuing building purchase options and has earmarked approximately $180,000 for improvements as part of a possible mortgage financing approach, Nack said.
Nack said the district will continue transition work and will present more information when appropriate.
