Under suspension of rules the House read House Concurrent Resolution 34 in full, a resolution memorializing Marine Lance Corporal Dion James Stevenson as the first Utahn killed in action during the Persian Gulf conflict.
Madam reading clerk read the resolution text that praised Stevenson’s courage and service and directed that a copy be sent to his parents. Representative Lyon and other members offered tributes to Stevenson and to families who may be called on to sacrifice in wartime.
