Floor roundup: multiple committee reports adopted, bills encircled and several resolutions passed

During the floor session members adopted a string of committee reports, moved bills between calendars, and passed a set of resolutions.

Key actions and outcomes included: - HB112 (higher education revenue bonds): committee report adopted and the bill placed on the third-reading calendar. - HB149 (sick leave policies for higher education): committee report adopted; read for the second time and referred to the Rules Committee due to fiscal impact. - HB83 (health insurance claims): committee report adopted and the bill placed on third-reading calendar. - HB124 (workers’ compensation coverage for Olympics volunteers): committee report adopted and the bill placed on the consent calendar. - HB143 (school district interfund transfer amendments): sponsor explained the removal of a sunset allowing interfund transfers; the House passed the bill (vote recorded by the clerk, reported as 64 affirmative votes) and the measure will go to the Senate. - HB69 and other bills were substituted and circled to allow members time to read new language; circling was used several times for bills and resolutions. - HJR15 (recognizing Hogle Zoo’s 60th anniversary) passed unanimously (67 affirmative votes) and HJR18 (Utah Humanities Council resolution) passed (64 affirmative votes).
