Votes at a glance: House forwards several bills, adopts committee reports

The Utah House on the floor session processed a large block of committee reports and recorded votes that moved a number of bills forward.
Several committee reports were adopted early in the session and those bills were assigned to calendars for further consideration. House Bill 183 (amendments to the Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act) received 60 affirmative votes, 0 negative, and passed the House to the Senate. House Bill 150 (initiative and petition process amendments) later passed the House with 72 affirmative votes, 0 negative, and will be forwarded to the Senate. House Bill 107 (boiler inspection amendment) passed on the floor with a recorded tally of 60 yes and 9 no votes. House Bill 164 (railroad trespass law) passed with 50 yes and 19 no votes. House Bill 145 (youth transport services) passed 67-0 and was forwarded to the Senate for further consideration.
Other bills were reported out of committee and placed on the third-reading or consent calendars per committee requests; these included multiple human-services and state/local-affairs measures (for example, HB196 on background checks for childcare workers was placed on the third-reading and the consent calendars). Several Senate measures transmitted to the House (including Senate Bills 6, 21, 26, 27, 47 and others) were referred according to the clerk’s announcements.
The House concluded business and adjourned until 10:00 a.m. the following morning.
