The Utah House advanced a broad consent calendar during floor proceedings, approving numerous Senate bills and sending them on for signature or further Senate consideration.
Among the measures the House approved were:
- Senate Bill 36 (judicial notice of proclamations and rules): passed by voice vote with 55 affirmative votes and no recorded negatives. - Senate Bill 105 (supervision of federal criminal justice grants): passed 53–0. - Senate Bill 32 (wildlife violator compact, reciprocity for out-of-state violators): passed 55–0. - Senate Bill 78 (approval requirement and local comments for wildlife land acquisition): passed 60–0. - Senate Bill 64 (emergency medical services surcharge flexibility): passed 66–0. - House Bill 337 (whistleblower reporting to the state auditor): passed 55–0.
Most items on the consent calendar received little floor debate and were read by title; several bills were signed immediately by the presiding officers for entry on the House journal as passed. The Speaker also announced committee reports placing additional Senate bills on the third-reading calendar for later floor consideration.
