House passes multiple bills on consent calendar and third reading; key roll calls and committee referrals

On Jan. 27, 1994, the House approved several measures on the consent calendar and third reading, including HCR 4 (66‑0), HB 1‑12 (65‑0), HB 1‑13 (67‑0), HB 1‑40 (71‑0), Substitute HB 5 (72‑1), Substitute HB 68 (57‑0), and House Bill 1 10 (65‑5); several committee reports were adopted and numerous bills were referred to standing committees.
The House completed numerous routine and contested floor items in the Jan. 27 session, adopting committee reports, reading first and second times, and voting final passage on several measures.
Notable outcomes included HCR 4 (retirement exemptions resolution) which passed 66‑0 and was sent to the Senate; House Bill 1 12 (corporate tax technical amendments) passed 65‑0 and was referred to the Senate; House Bill 1 13 (authority of magistrates) passed by recorded affirmative vote (67‑0) and was referred to the Senate; and House Bill 1 40 (service of expungement petitions) passed 71‑0.
On business law, the House approved Substitute HB 5 (limited liability partnership) by roll call, 72‑1, and transmitted it to the Senate. Substitute HB 68 (Information Technology Commission) passed 57‑0 and was also referred to the Senate. House Bill 1 10 (salary changes for elective officials) passed 65‑5 on third reading.
The Rules Committee reported dozens of bills for assignment to standing committees; the House adopted the Rules report and distributed those bills by subject. The Speaker adjourned the House until 10 a.m. the following day.
