House adopts committee reports, reorders third‑reading calendar and places many bills for action

The Utah House adopted a series of committee reports and reorganized the third‑reading calendar to prioritize members’ first and second priority bills.
The Revenue & Taxation Committee (Chair Raymond W. Short) reported favorable recommendations on HB409 (county tourism/recreation/cultural/convention tax) and sales‑tax‑treatment measures among others; the Human Services Committee reported on HB412 (task force on regulatory barriers to affordable housing) and child welfare amendments; the State & Local Affairs Committee recommended consent placement for HB364 and reported several other items for rules referral.
The Rules Committee moved many priority bills to the top of the third‑reading calendar and reassigned some measures to other committees (for example, HB338 was reassigned to the Energy and Natural Resources Committee for further consideration). The House adopted the rules reports and the adjusted calendar by voice votes and motions.
Clerks also read a list of Senate measures that had been passed and that would be treated as read for first referral to the Rules Committee.
