Floor roundup: multiple Senate bills transmitted; committee assignments announced

Early in the session the clerk read a group of Senate bills passed and transmitted for House consideration: SB 4 (capital homicide amendment) by Senator Lee Bueller; SB 83 (Judge's Non-Contributory Retirement System) by Senator C. Peterson; SB 89 and SB 90 (juvenile court/short-term commitment and juvenile court powers) by Senator M. Tanner et al.; SB 94 (information technology amendments) by Senator D. Steele; and SB 104 (state risk management coverage of teachers) by Senator L. Holt.
Madam Maincliff presented the Rules Committee report listing house bills and resolutions to be printed and assigned. Representative Hickman moved adoption of the Rules report; the body adopted it without recorded opposition. Committee assignments were announced (e.g., business, labor and economic development; education; government operations; health and human services; judiciary; natural resources, agriculture and environment; revenue and taxation; transportation). Several committee reports (including Business, Labor and Economic Development on HB 63 and substitute HB 218) were adopted and those bills were placed on the appropriate calendars.
