House approves technical corrections to boards and commissions law

"This bill this year is to correct the errors that were made," he said.
Floor members asked whether legislators could serve on certain quasi-governmental boards such as the state fair board and whether the statute needed explicit code language to permit it; Bradshaw and staff said such authority must be specified in the code where relevant. The sponsor emphasized that most changes were non-substantive technical corrections; one substantive-sounding change was relocating alcohol training language into the substance-abuse section to match existing administration.
