Selma council approves specific-use permit for Clear Works Premium Auto Styling

The Selma City Council approved an ordinance granting a specific-use permit to Clear Works Premium Auto Styling to operate a 3,000-square-foot retail and fabrication shop at 17170 Jordan Road, Suites 401–403 in Stall Business Park, planning staff said.
Planner Monique Vernon told the council the property is zoned light industrial but that the city’s land-use matrix requires a specific-use permit for some of the proposed services. Vernon said the Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval. No members of the public signed up to speak during the public hearing. Council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance unanimously.
The permit allows specified services including wheels and tires, lifts no larger than 6 inches, truck accessories, auto detailing, insurance-claim work, ceramic coating and paint correction. A company representative attended the meeting but did not speak during the public hearing. The council welcomed the business to Selma and noted its anticipation of new local jobs and services.
