Mayor proclaims National FFA Week; Hondo FFA lauded for wool-judging win

Mayor John McInally Junior read and signed a proclamation recognizing National FFA Week on Feb. 10 and commended the local Hondo FFA organization for its contributions to agricultural education.
The proclamation noted that Hondo schools have supported agricultural skills for nine decades and that former FFA members continue to serve at local, state and national levels. Council members applauded the group and the mayor said he would present the proclamation to students when he has the opportunity; several students and advisers were at the San Antonio stock show during the meeting.
Deputy or staff remarks noted that Hondo FFA won first place in a wool-judging competition over the weekend and that students will show projects at the San Antonio rodeo on Feb. 22.
No formal council action was required for the proclamation.
