Council approves consent agenda and awards airport sign contract; item on downtown tank tabled

At its Feb. 24 meeting the Hondo City Council took several formal actions: it approved the consent agenda, awarded an airport monument sign contract and tabled a downtown storage-tank change order until the next meeting.

The council approved the consent agenda (items 7–14) after the mayor asked whether any items should be pulled and no requests were made. A member moved to approve the consent agenda and the motion carried by voice vote with no opposition announced.

On agenda item 15 the city received three bids for an airport monument sign; staff recommended Keller Signs of San Antonio. A council member moved to award RFP 24-003 to Keller Signs for an amount not to exceed $153,000; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote with no opposition announced.

Item 16 (downtown ground storage tank rehabilitation project change order) was announced for executive-session consultation with the city attorney under the Government Code. Following that notice, a council member moved to table item 16 until the next council meeting; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.

The meeting was then adjourned at 06:56.
