Stratford Planning Commission elects leadership, corrects minutes and schedules training

The Stratford Planning Commission opened its Feb. 20 organizational meeting with introductions and elected Sarah Graham as chair and Joe Gerics as vice chair for calendar year 2024.
The commission approved the corrected regular meeting minutes from Nov. 17, 2023 and later amended and adopted the Jan. 30 minutes to reflect District 10 and to record the prior vote accurately (the commission clarified a 3-0 result with one abstention). Chair Graham called for administrative housekeeping items and a special meeting to be scheduled for March 7.
Planner Sismita Atota reminded commissioners that state statute requires four hours of annual commissioner training on topics such as ex parte communication, bias and predetermination, and site-visit procedures; Atota said she would circulate links to the training resources.
The commission adjourned after approving appointments and administrative items.
