The City Council approved a preliminary plat and replat for the Maranatha Bible Church subdivision (20‑24004), consolidating parcels into a single 30.023‑acre lot at 7855 East Loop 1604 North.
Applicant and engineer Steve Lynn (CDS Murray) explained the church acquired adjacent parcels over time and that TxDOT’s right‑of‑way purchases along Loop 1604 left split parcels, prompting the replat to create one contiguous lot for the existing church. Lynn said the project is a preliminary plat only and that stormwater detention will be addressed during the building‑permit submittal with a detention‑pond design required at that time; curb, gutter and sidewalks will be deferred to the building permit phase.
The planning and zoning commission unanimously recommended approval with staff conditions, and council moved to approve the preliminary plat as presented.
