Council liaison summarizes city actions including utility-relocation contract and election-services agreement

Councilwoman Lynn Gonzales gave the Parks Commission a brief recap of recent City Council actions during the Nov. 4 meeting.
Gonzales said council approved awarding a request-for-proposal for health insurance-broker services and authorized the city manager to act as the authorized representative on matters pertaining to third-party administration and brokerage services. She reported that a special-use permit request for 9056 FM 78 (Zone B3 Commercial) was denied, and that council authorized the city manager to enter a contract with Garza EMC for a utility-relocation project described as Loop 1604/FM 78 to Rocket Lane; the liaison's summary did not provide a clear dollar amount for that contract in the commission meeting report.
Gonzales also said a variance request for 810 Tupperwain Road relating to cladding and city-code Chapter 40 was approved, the city will enter an agreement with Bexar County Elections Administration for election services, and council approved an amendment to an ordinance affecting City Code Chapter 50 (zoning administration, Division 2 – special use permits) that the liaison summarized using its ordinance reference.
