House lists multiple bills for first reading, refers them to Rules Committee

The reading clerk presented a block of bills for first reading early in Thursday's session. The list included House Bill 70 (sales and use tax exemption for school admission charges), HB 71 (uniform building standards amendment), HB 72 (expert discovery amendment), HB 73 (leaving the scene of an accident), HB 237 (department of public safety consolidation), HB 238 (appropriations for land use plans) and several others as read into the record.
The Speaker announced those bills "will be considered read for the first time and referred to the Rules Committee." No debate on the listed bills occurred on the floor during this session; their future scheduling and committee assignments will be handled by the Rules Committee.
The list also included House Joint Resolution 6 and House Resolution 2. Members were advised to confirm they had copies of the bills with their pages; a small number of legislators requested printed copies before further consideration.
