Stratford WPCA forwards Ornoch Lane sewer extension to planning commission

The Town of Stratford Water Pollution Control Authority voted May 30 to forward a referral for an extension of sewer service on Ornoch Lane to the planning commission for review on Aug. 24.
John Casey, town engineer, told the board the item was a referral for ‘‘the extension of the sewer on Ornoch Lane, from 170 Ornoch Lane to the west toward James Farm Road, to the planning commission for an 08/24 review.’’ Chair Brian O'Connor moved to forward the referral and a member seconded.
Board member Mister Green asked whether the referral was the same project the board considered at a previous meeting. Casey replied the referral ‘‘is not for the project specific. It's for the laying of pipe on Ornoch,’’ and that the pipe extension would eventually serve residents on the street. The board voted unanimously to forward the referral.
The action is a referral for planning review; it does not approve a specific construction contract or final design. The planning commission’s Aug. 24 review will be the next public step in the process.
