Mark Hannon, president of the Arts Alliance of Stratford, told the Town of Stratford public forum that the nonprofit is soliciting artists for an exhibit titled Strength in Colors at the Sterling House Community Center gallery.
The show is scheduled to run Monday, Sept. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 19, with an opening reception on Friday, Sept. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., Hannon said. He asked council members to share the call for artists with their constituents and said the call also appears on the group’s Facebook and Instagram pages; he provided flyers and his business card to the council.
The Arts Alliance described the exhibit’s theme as celebrating diversity and unity through art and encouraged submissions that reflect “our differences make us stronger,” Hannon said.
No council response or formal action was recorded during the public forum. Hannon’s request was presented as public information for council members to help publicize the call for artists.
