The Stratford Town Council on July 8 approved a package of grant-authorizing resolutions enabling the mayor's office to apply for multiple state and federal funds.
Key approvals included authorization to seek a $7,060,000 grant for flood mitigation at Ferry Boulevard and Broad Street with a required town match of $426,643; a $13,000 grant with no town match to expand the town's Juvenile Review Board; National Council on Aging funding to support the health department's older-adult vaccination initiative; an $89,286 grant with a $29,761 town match for engine replacement on the Stratford police boat; and a Community Investment Fund joint application with the City of Bridgeport for Route 130 (Stratford Avenue) traffic and safety planning and design. Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved by the council on voice votes.
