Stratford council adopts ordinance authorizing automated traffic-enforcement devices

The Stratford Town Council voted unanimously July 8 to adopt Ordinance 24-03, authorizing the use of automated traffic-enforcement safety devices. Councilor (Mister) Aurelia moved to dispense with the second reading and adopt the ordinance; the motion was seconded and carried on a roll-call vote.
Miss Shaikh offered brief remarks citing state-provided background and financing information, saying the council had "more detailed information, background, and the financing" and expressing a hope for safer streets. The chair then called for a roll-call vote; the clerk recorded affirmative votes from the council and the ordinance was declared adopted. The ordinance will take effect 30 days after passage.
