Representative Don Bush said the agreement—an arrangement among western states—aims to harmonize truck weights, lengths and related regulations so operators do not have to change vehicles or otherwise incur costs at state borders. He told the House the bill is low-impact and has no fiscal effect on the state.
The House opened and closed a vote; the clerk recorded passage 74–0 and the bill will be referred to the Senate. Supporters described the bill as an administrative alignment with other western states to reduce friction in interstate trucking operations.
