WPCA approves sewer-capacity model update and a Wells Fargo connection in Trumbull

The Stratford Water Pollution Control Authority on Nov. 25 approved several administrative items: a not-to-exceed $10,000 contract with Ty and Bond to update the town’s sewer-capacity model (last updated in 2017) and a request to allow the Wells Fargo property at 60 Holly Lane, which sits by a section of sewer owned by the Town of Stratford but lies in Trumbull, to connect to the sanitary sewer.
Town Engineer Mister Casey said the model update will incorporate development approvals since 2017 and confirm the influent-pipe pitch at the treatment plant, which affects capacity. The WPCA approved the Ty and Bond scope and fee by voice vote.
On the Trumbull connection, Casey noted there is no intermunicipal agreement with Trumbull, so the town will prepare an individual agreement with the property owner to allow the connection and to enable the town to assess and collect sewer charges. The board approved the Wells Fargo connection request by voice vote.
Both items passed without extended debate; staff will return with contract paperwork for the model update and with the draft property-owner agreement for the Trumbull connection.
