SALT LAKE CITY — In addition to election‑law and trust‑law debates, House members handled a set of technical measures and procedural actions during the Nov. 19 special session.
A reading clerk announced multiple measures on the House calendar. Representative David Hogue (as identified by the reading clerk) described House Bill 2,002 as a cleanup measure restoring omitted words and statutory references in the court security fee language, which "will allow funds to be dispersed through that court security account to the counties." The House considered the bill under suspension of the rules, accepted summation waivers and opened voting.
Representative Morgan moved to place House Bill 2,005 on the House third‑reading calendar. Morgan described HB 2,005 as a limited change that "changes the date" to place an existing statute back into compliance and said the bill "doesn't address all of those problems" in the longer education debate but simply restores prior timing.
The House also adopted procedural motions to suspend the reading of formal bill titles, and the Speaker appointed a committee to notify the Senate that the House was organized and ready for business. Members paused for a brief recess after receiving communication from the Senate that it had passed an amended Senate bill relating to property‑tax confidentiality.
