House advances several Senate priority funding bills to top of Senate third-reading calendar

Under suspension of the rules, the House approved moving a package of Senate priority funding bills (including SB 135, SJR 6, SB 16, SB 114, SB 72 and SB 199) to the top of the Senate third-reading calendar so budget work can proceed.
Representative Dilley moved under suspension of the rules that the House consider and place several Senate priority bills on the top of the Senate third-reading calendar. He said these were funding priority bills that needed action before the budget could be finalized. The speaker asked for explanations and members were told to watch the list for possible floor sponsorship.
Representative Dilley identified a sample list of the bills to be advanced, including Senate Bill 135 (Center for Multicultural Health), SJR 6 (Resolution on Impeachment Authority), Senate Bill 16 (Identity Theft Amendments), Senate Bill 114 (amendments related to prescription drugs), Senate Bill 72 (disposition of fines for registration violations) and Senate Bill 199 (outsourcing state jobs). The motion was agreed.
The clerk began reading additional calendar items and representatives were instructed to check whether they would be floor sponsors for any items moved to the top of the calendar.
