House completes a set of procedural actions and committee report adoption

The House adopted the rules committee report, assigned numerous bills to standing committees, granted leave to open a bill file on tuition waivers, moved to the Senate calendar, and adjourned; procedural motions included circling and uncircling several bills for later consideration.
Following several floor votes on substantive measures, the Utah House adopted the rules committee report, which printed and assigned a broad set of bills and substitutes to standing committees (Business Labor, Education, Judiciary, Health and Human Services, Revenue and Taxation, Transportation, and others). The House also granted a representative leave to open a bill file on tuition waivers, moved from the House calendar to the Senate calendar, and processed procedural motions to circle and uncircle a set of bills, including first substitute House Bill 62 (intermediate care facilities).
Representative Rebecca Lockhart, identified as committee chair during the report, moved adoption of the rules report and the motion passed. Representative Alexander moved to move from the House calendar to the Senate calendar and that motion also passed. At the end of the session, the House heard a transportation caucus announcement and adjourned until 10:00 a.m. the following day.
