Larry Wiley sworn in to represent Legislative District 31 in Utah House

Speaker and members invited Wiley forward to be sworn and offered him brief words of welcome. After taking the oath, Wiley thanked the House and said he was ‘‘a man of very little words, but action speaks louder than words,’’ offering a short, lighthearted remark while signaling readiness to serve.
The appointment was read into the record as coming from Gov. John M. Huntsman Jr. The House proceeded to regular business after welcoming Wiley to the chamber.
The next formal opportunity for the new representative to address committee matters or introduce legislation will follow standard committee referral and scheduling procedures.
