House receives multiple Senate-passed bills and conference committee appointments
Summary

Reading Clerk (unidentified) told the House that the Senate had passed and transmitted for the Speaker’s signature House Bill 303, limiting phosphorus in dishwashing detergent; House Bill 467, addressing motor vehicle insurance arbitration amendments; first substitute House Bill 472, concerning charter school building and enrollment amendments; and House Bill 492, on offender notification and registration. The clerk also reported that first substitute House Bill 203 (judicial review of state engineer decisions) was transmitted for further consideration.
The clerk reported that the Senate refused to recede on House Bill 2 (the new fiscal year supplemental appropriations act) and appointed a Senate conference committee of Senators L. Hilliard, M. Wattack and S. McCoy to meet with the House conference committee. Separately, the President of the Senate appointed a conference committee for first substitute Senate Bill 2 (minimum school budget program budget amendments), naming Senators H. Stevenson, S. Jenkins and Kane Maine to the panel.
Speaker (unidentified) said substitute Senate Bill 81 and substitute Senate Bill 38 would be signed by the Speaker and returned to the Senate for the President’s signature. The Speaker also placed substitute House Bill 203 on the concurrence calendar for future consideration and directed staff to proceed with enrolling and returning other transmitted bills, including House Bill 347 (motor vehicle business regulation amendments) and the previously listed bills.
No roll-call votes or formal legislative amendments were recorded on the House floor during these communications; the actions announced consisted of transmittals for signature and the named conference-committee appointments. The House indicated it would move the listed measures through signing and enrolling procedures and expedited the work of the appointed conference committees.
The communications as read concluded without further debate; the House then moved to a brief recognition of its interns.
