House concurs with Senate changes to HB 3; final passage 63-8

The Utah House of Representatives concurred with Senate amendments to House Bill 3, an adjustments package for the state budget, and approved final passage in the chamber.

Representative Bigelow moved that the House concur with the Senate amendments and placed the motion before the membership. "I move we concur with the Senate amendments," Representative Bigelow said. The clerk opened final passage voting; the House recorded 63 yes votes and 8 no votes on HB 3. The chamber announced that HB 3 will be returned to the Senate for the signature of the Senate President.

House members also received a message from the Senate that the Senate had concurred in House amendments and passed first substitute Senate Bill 215, described in the communication as "Highway Project Funding, Salt Lake County," which the Senate transmitted to the Speaker for signature and return.

In floor business preceding adjournment, the House adopted a motion by Representative Garn to strike the enacting clause on all bills and resolutions remaining on the calendar and refer related matters to the House Rules Committee. The chamber then completed routine end-of-session appointments and instructed Sandy Tenney to certify the Daily House Journal for the 2010 General Session. The House moved to adjourn sine die.
