House adopts final appropriations adjustments in S.B. 3, sending budget fixes to the Senate

Brown summarized the broader budget outcome: the Legislature funded public education with a 22.2% increase over the prior year and made those adjustments without raising taxes, saying the budget still maintained “an approximately $50,000,000 structural imbalance.” Representative Liptak (floor) thanked leadership for working across party lines to include minority priorities.
After brief debate and a summation, the House voted to pass S.B. 3, 62 yes to 11 no. The bill will be signed by the Speaker and returned to the Senate for the President's signature.
