Floor roundup: dozens of bills and resolutions advanced or passed Feb. 17

The Utah House’s Feb. 17 session included a batch of routine and substantive floor actions.
Ceremonial and consent items HCR 11, recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Salt Lake Rotary Club, passed the House 65–0 and was transmitted to the Senate. Several committee reports were adopted and bills were read for referral to standing committees.
Consent and other final-passage items House Bill 167 (Incarceration Amendment) passed on final reading, recorded 69–0. House Bill 178 (dispatcher service amendments) likewise passed 69–0 on final reading; the bill tightens dispatcher qualifications and certification rules. SCR 1 (scribe intervention team program) was concurred with Senate amendments and passed final passage 69–0. Several other bills were read for first time, circled, uncircled, or moved to time certain on the calendar for later consideration.
Calendar management and scheduling Leadership announced committee meetings and caucus times; a number of third-reading items were adjusted on the time-certain calendar (House Bills 94 and 250 were moved to Friday time-certain slots).
What happens next: Bills that passed will be sent to the Senate for further action; items referred to committees will proceed through standing-committee review and scheduling.
