House concurs with Senate amendments and passes sixth substitute of HB 3001 for House boundaries

SALT LAKE CITY — On Oct. 4, 2011, the Utah House of Representatives voted to concur with Senate amendments to the sixth substitute of House Bill 3001, the bill addressing state House boundaries and election designations. The Speaker announced the measure passed after the roll call.
The motion to concur was made on the floor and discussion was waived. The Clerk initially announced a tally of 70 yes and 1 no; after an additional counted vote the Speaker announced a final tally of 71 yes and 1 no and declared the bill passed the House. The Clerk also noted that Representatives Wright and Butterfield were excused from the vote. Leslie O'MacLean, identified in the record as Secretary of the Senate, transmitted the Senate-substituted versions to the House for further consideration, and the House will return the bill to the Senate with the Speaker's signature for the President's signature and final processing.
Chief Clerk Sandy Detenney certified that the block assignment file security code on the bill's DVD matched the printed bill and that both the printed bill and associated electronic materials are available on the legislature's website. "The printed bill and its associated electronic content are available on the legislature's website," the Chief Clerk stated in the session.
Representative Assumption, speaking on personal privilege during the same session, thanked Representative Lee Perry for inspecting a property that appeared split on a map. Assumption said Perry found the divided structure was a garage on one side of the census block line and the house on the other, and that the map was not amended to change that property assignment. "I would just like to recognize Representative Perry for an extra effort to get it right," Assumption said.
The House's action on HB 3001 was procedural concurrence with the Senate amendments; final enactment steps include signatures from the Speaker and the Senate President before the bill proceeds to whatever gubernatorial or administrative processing is required.
