House recognizes 10-year legislative relationship with Liaoning Province (China)

Under suspension of the rules the House lifted Senate Concurrent Resolution 17 and placed it on the Senate third‑reading calendar for immediate consideration. The resolution recognizes the 10‑year legislative and cultural relationship between Utah and Liaoning Province in China.
Representative Hutchings and other sponsors introduced members of the Liaoning delegation and recounted a decade of exchanges that included legislative, educational and trade visits. The floor read the resolution text, which documents multiple visits and cooperation on education and trade, and states that Utah's relationship with Liaoning is the "only one of its kind between the United States and China" as written in the resolution text.
The House voted to approve SCR 17 unanimously (75‑0). The resolution will be transmitted to the Senate for the president's signature.
