House adopts substituted SJR6 to authorize lease of water rights, aims to support developmental center revenues

"The developmental center in American Fork is a gem of a resource in the entire state," Kennedy said, adding the resolution aims to generate revenue so the center can remain self-sufficient.
Kennedy described the property's location as just south of Lone Peak High School and said the lease authority would provide funds to support care for some of the state's most vulnerable citizens who live at the center. After no additional questions, summation was waived and the House voted; the reading clerk recorded 66 yay votes and 0 nay votes for the substituted resolution.
Next steps: SJR6, as substituted, will be returned to the Senate for further consideration with the House's substitute language.
