House adopts several third-reading items, including SB155 and multiple committee reports

The Utah House completed an extensive third-reading calendar on March 7, adopting multiple standing committee reports, passing a number of bills and referring several measures to the House Rules Committee or the concurrence calendar.
Notable floor actions included the adoption of Amendment 1 to Senate Bill 155 (Alcohol Beverage Control budget amendments). Representative Wilson moved the amendment to clarify that appropriated funds may be used for salaries, performance awards and information-technology enhancements; Representative Duckworth spoke in support. The amendment was adopted, and the full amended bill passed the House with a recorded vote of 68'0 and will be returned to the Senate.
Earlier the clerk announced that the Senate had substituted, amended and passed second substitute House Bill 235 (automated traffic enforcement safety devices) and transmitted it to the House; that bill was placed on the concurrence calendar for further consideration. The House also read numerous standing committee reports from Business and Labor, Education, Judiciary, Natural Resources, Revenue and Taxation and others; votes to adopt committee reports were taken and multiple bills were read for the second time and referred to the House Rules Committee for further action.
The House concluded its calendar work for the day and adjourned until March 8 at 8 a.m.
