The House granted leave without objection to open the bill file for the concurrent resolution.
Following that request, Representative Albrecht asked members to stand for a moment of silence for Fred Hayes and his family; the chamber observed the silence. Perry said he and Senator Ipsen and other members intended to work the naming details with the Bureau of Reclamation and with State Parks and hoped to complete those negotiations during the session.
The request to open the file does not itself name the park; it authorizes the sponsor to prepare a resolution and to begin negotiations with the federal owner and State Parks. Any formal renaming would require additional approvals beyond the House's leave to open the file.
