Utah House advances dozen items, including assistance-animal changes and highway designation

The Utah House of Representatives on Feb. 26 approved a run of bills and ceremonial resolutions after brief presentations and committee reports.
House Bill 407, the Assistance Animals Amendments, passed the House and was transmitted to the Senate after the Clerk announced it had received 66 yes votes and 2 no votes. Representative Dunnigan said the measure creates an enforcement mechanism for fraudulent assistance-animal claims so individuals with legitimate needs are not harmed by abuse of the system.
