The Utah Senate formally recognized two statewide honorees and the American Mothers Incorporated Utah Association with SCR 4. Senator Hilliard introduced the concurrent resolution, which memorialized the association’s objectives of supporting mothers, fostering community and family wellness, and promoting parenting resources.
The chamber read the resolution text in full, then resolved into the Committee of the Whole to hear brief remarks from the honorees and association representatives. Joanne Todd McKenna and Diane Rich Weese addressed the Senate modestly, thanking members and noting community support; association leadership members were also recognized.
Under suspension of the rules senators moved to consider SCR 4 for second and third reading and final passage with an affirmative voice, the motion carried and the resolution was advanced per the procedural motion recorded on the floor. The Senate asked those in attendance to stand and be recognized as part of the ceremony.
Next steps: SCR 4 will be recorded as a concurrent resolution of the Legislature and transmitted as appropriate.
