Senate approves wide set of House bills, supplemental appropriations and school funding moves

Salt Lake City — The Utah Senate spent much of its March 3 floor session moving dozens of House measures and taking final action on a $47.8 million supplemental appropriations package and related budget bills.
Under suspension of the rules, the Senate approved Senate Bill 212, a supplemental appropriations act that the sponsor said draws $36,373,800 from FY1993 sources and brings combined appropriations to $47,773,800 (Sen. McAllister). The chamber inserted intent language clarifying distribution of education technology initiative (ETI) funds so school districts would receive lump-sum, nonlapsing amounts when those funds became available.
