NBA and Jazz Visit Senate to Promote 'Stay in School' Program

NBA and Jazz representatives said the program reached 53 schools and would bring as many as 16,000 to 18,000 students to the Delta Center for a culminating event. "We talked about attitude, attendance, and achievement," Lanier said, explaining the program’s goals.
Senators presented citations to the NBA and Jazz representatives and thanked them for partnering with the State Board of Education and local schools. Several senators recognized students and teachers from area schools who were present in the gallery.
