Senate Votes to Fund Bear River Planning and Development

SALT LAKE CITY — Senate Bill 18, an appropriation to support Bear River planning and development, passed the Utah Senate on Jan. 19, 1993.
Sponsor Senator John Holman told colleagues members "pretty well discussed the bill yesterday" and that "I think everyone understands the necessity and the need for this bill and to continue the work on the development of the Hiram Dam and the related things associated with that." After brief discussion the question was called and the roll was recorded. The clerk initially reported 24 ayes and five absent; the tally was corrected and the presiding officer later announced the bill passed by recorded vote (reported as 25 ayes, no nays in corrections announced on the floor).
The bill will be sent to the House for further action.
