Senate concurs on several resolutions, recalls a House bill and adjourns

The Utah Senate handled a series of procedural motions on Feb. 1, 1996, approving and returning several items to the House and adjusting its calendar.
Senator Black moved concurrence on SJR 1 (a technical amendment); the Senate concurred by roll call, the Clerk announced 25 aye votes and no nays (4 absent). The body also took up SJR 14 (Session Employees Compensation), and under suspension of the rules the resolution passed with 26 aye votes and three absent.
A motion was made to recall House Bill 2 (insured motors identification program) for further consideration because of a procedural/technical issue noted after the prior vote. Leadership also managed calendar business including moving House Bill 85 and arranging substitute bill printing and placement.
Senator Black moved to adjourn the Senate until 10 a.m. the following morning; the motion carried and the Senate adjourned.
