Senate advances $50,000 boost for Utah Missing Person Clearinghouse to create a full‑time position

"What this does is appropriate $50,000 to make it 1 full time FTE so you can disseminate the mission the information out to the different agencies," Hall said, describing the need to correlate requirements and expand public education on missing persons.
Senators asked procedural questions about whether a filibuster or a call of the Senate was required; the sponsor stressed the appropriation was not tied to floor attendance levels. On roll call the clerk recorded 'House Bill 27 has 21 aye votes, 1 nay vote, 7 being absent' and the bill was passed to the third reading calendar.
Next steps: HB 27 will appear on the third reading calendar for final consideration and enactment procedures.
